Foreground
The high education system in Romania, especially in the technical field, is strongly
affected by the last period's evolution of the industrial environment concerning the
production of equipments and machine-tools, mechanical parts and goods of all kinds.
The local economical environment, but also the international links and partners
from the well developed industrial countries, are the key factors guiding the continuous
development of our educational and research policy, in order to answer to the future
changes expected in the romanian industrial development.
The diversification of the manufacturing technologies, from metal cutting to
polymer and composite materials forming, the diversification of the design methods
and environments, through integrated, computer aided design systems, they all represent
as many directions for the renewal of the teaching and training activity, as well as
research, in our Department.
On the other hand, we assume (we allways did) an active role in supporting the
processes of modernizing and adapting the local industry to the new market requirements.
Thus life-long training, as well as contractual research, are now permanent activities
of most of our accademic staff, with an important impact on the structure and functions
in the future years.
